Day 1: Arrival Nairobi | Transfer Emara Ole Sereni

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, we will meet you in style- for assistance and transfer to your hotel of stay where you are booked on bed and breakfast basis. Overnight at Emara Ole Sereni.

Days 2 & 3

Selenkay Conservancy - Amboseli Narional Park

Days 2 & 3 Itinerary

After early morning breakfast, our professional driver guide will pick you up and drive you to one of the most popular parks in Kenya, Selenkay Conservancy - Amboseli National Park, home to around 900 elephants. Located near Mount Kilimanjaro, the world's tallest freestanding mountain, weather permitting you will be able to witness the snowcapped peak. Selenkay Conservancy forms a part of the Maasai heritage landscape. Its rich preserved environments boast an abundance of wildlife freely wandering the open plains, from zebras grazing the grassy pastures to lions lurking through the bushveld and baboons swinging across the savannas. The Selenkay Conservancy is home to an array of wilderness camps, which will offer you direct access to the area’s sprawling environments. Today, you will acclimate to your unspoiled Kenyan surroundings and enjoy an afternoon game drive through the bush.

Porini Amboseli Safari Camp is located within the exclusive 15,000 acre Selenkay Conservancy, which is 10 miles north of the Amboseli National Park. Activities include game drives in specially designed open-sided 4x4 Land Rovers, both on the Conservancy and in the Amboseli National Park. Bush walks and night drives can also be enjoyed on the Conservancy. The stunning Mount Kilimanjaro can be viewed on a clear day, making a beautiful backdrop to any photograph. Guests have the opportunity to see a wide variety of wildlife, including elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, buffalo, striped hyena, jackal, African wild cat, porcupine, Thompson's and Grant's gazelles, gerenuk, impala, oryx, eland, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, warthog, and vervet monkeys. Birdlife is prolific, especially birds of prey. Other activities include walks to the local Maasai village, and for guests staying 3 nights, there is also the opportunity to do a full day bush walk, and camp out under the stars in a 2 man dome tent for a really unique safari experience.

 

Days 4 & 5

Ol Pejeta Conservancy - Kicheche Laikipia Camp

Days 4 & 5 Itinerary

You will tuck into breakfast and then transfer through Amboseli to a local airstrip, where you will catch a flight to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Situated at the foothills of Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Mountain Range, Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a gorgeous safari getaway that is home to the largest remaining collection of black rhinos in East Africa. You will check into Kicheche Laikipia Camp upon arrival before you join your knowledgeable ranger and head out on safari. Along the way, you will hope to spot lions pacing across the savanna and zebras gathering with warthogs and wildebeests around the shallow waterholes.

Kicheche Laikipia is a small luxury tent camp located in Mount Kenya’s shadows, providing you with an excellent view of Kenya’s highest mountain. It sits in a private conservancy with a 90,000-acre wilderness. The conservancy hosts Kenya’s largest black rhino population, elephants, cheetah, lions, leopards, and African wild dogs. Here, you also view some of Africa’s rarest zebra species like the Grevy’s Zebra, Jackson’s Hartebeest, and Beisa Oryx. Activities are galore. You can indulge in day and night game drives, nature walks, horseback rides, and safari walks. Further, you may fly in hot-air balloon safaris to catch an aerial view of the wilderness’s rich wildlife. Its spacious tents have large verandahs for better game viewing. You can also enjoy al-fresco meals while warming the cold away beside a fireplace. Its “green” approach supplies 24-hour solar power.

 

Days 6, 7 & 8

Maasai Mara - Mara Plains Camp

Days 6, 7 & 8 Itinerary

You will check out of your camp this morning after breakfast and transfer to the airstrip to catch your light aircraft flight to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. upon arrival you will be assisted and transfer to Mara Plains Camp. The Maasai Mara is also renowned for the incredible annual migration of zebra and wildebeest. You will take three nights here to Explore, Experience and to re-discover the Magic of Masai Mara Game Reserve. Several activities abound for instance a visit to the Maasai village to experience first hand the Maasai culture or do a more joyous and exciting Balloon ride.

The enchanting Mara Plains Camp is situated on a bend of the Ntiakitiak River in a secluded private conservancy on the border of the Masai Mara National Reserve. Access to this elegant and secluded camp is via a wooden footbridge over a river, underlining its sense of seclusion and intimacy. Elegant yet understated, seven guest tents pay homage to the rich heritage of Africa, from chunky wooden doors from the Swahili enclave of Lamu to the deep red and purple shades that honour the spirit of the Maasai, while rich leather, copper and brass harks back to the colonial explorers.

The stylish guest area opens out onto views of the endless savannah, which guests can enjoy while dining in the main mess area or whiling away a quiet hour or two in the library. A yoga mat is provided in each tent for those guests who wish to work out in between game drives. Morning and late afternoon / evening game drives explore the private conservancy, continuing after dark for a chance to spot Africa’s mighty predators in action. Hot air ballooning and cultural visits to a Maasai village are available at an additional cost.

 

 

Day 9 | Departure, End of Expedition

Though your safari experience in Kenya will reach the end of the road today, you will relish one final morning slowly soaking up the sunshine from your patio and sipping on freshly squeezed juice to backdrops of the sprawling bushveld. After breakfast, you will gather your things and revel in a game drive that will lead you to a few remaining animal viewing hotspots before you arrive at the airstrip to catch your flight back to the Wilson Airport. There are optional plans for a day room or lunch before your final transfer to JKIA for your home-bound flight.
